Right Point Media’s Chris Varner was hired by renowned High-Definition Camera Operator/Director of Photography Dusty Powers to assist on two video shoots for the 2008 Democratic National Convention. The first video, a feature on former President Jimmy Carter, was filmed in the 9th Ward in New Orleans and focused on the 3rd Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The second video, the introductory bio-piece on Vice Presidential candidate Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, was shown before he addressed the Convention. Both videos were produced by June Beallor Productions.

Right Point Media has a long standing relationship with the CW’s One Tree Hill and we are pleased to continue this into Season 6. Right Point Media provides a variety of video services including video editing, playback DVDs, on-set specialty video support, and High Def video camera operation.

Right Point Media has begun production on a new Campus Tour Video for UNC-Wilmington. The video will be used by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to recruit and inform prospective students about the University and it’s academic, athletic and social opportunities.

Right Point Media, in conjunction with web-based training leader Senova Training, produced nine video segments to introduce web based training modules for online stock trading power TD Ameritrade. The shoot took place on Soundstage 2 at EUE / Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, NC.

In 2005 RPM’s Chris Varner and L.A.-based producer Ben Andron co-created and co-produced “Surf n’ Turf”, America’s first surf-travel television show. Surf n’ Turf has now found a home on Direct TV via The Water Channel. At the present time, Direct TV is in over 16 million households in the United States and is projecting to be in 20 million by years’ end. We are excited by our new relationship with The Water Channel and are committed to bringing the exhilarating world of surf-travel to a TV near you. More information about the show “Surf n’ Turf”.

Right Point Media produced three videos for New Hanover County Schools over the course of the year. Two of the videos focused on the issue of bullying in our schools. The Bully Report was created for - and largely by - elementary school children. Stand Up, Speak Out Against Bullying addresses our middle and high school students and featured local drama students. The third video entitled Stranger Danger was produced for the benefit of school staff, and deals with the threat of strangers and perhaps even predators who trespass on school grounds. Funded by the Safe Schools, Healthy Students grant, Stranger Danger focused largely on the results of a UNCW study on the vulnerability of our public school campuses. View the clips:
